About the Recipe

Ingredients

What you need:

6 lbs. Cooked Bones

20 c. Water, tap cool, or amount it takes to cover bones

Preparation

What to do:

Preheat oven’s lower rack 240°F

Place bones in roaster

Add water to cover bones, cover with lid

Place in oven for between 12-15 hours

Place sieve in bowl

Carefully move bones to metal sieve, then to metal bowl to be discarded later

Pour broth through sieve

Pour broth from bowl into wide-mouthed glass jars. Seal while hot

Let cool on counter, when cool, place in fridge

Use within 1 1/2 weeks

Notes:

-        Fat will settle on top, use for frying

-        Can use more or less bones and water

-        I like wide-mouthed glass jars. They’re easier to get thick bone broth out of.

-        Save up steak bones, rib bones, roast bones, or any bone you have.

Enjoy!
