About the Recipe

Ingredients
1/2 - 1 lb. Butter
Preparation
Brown Butter
You need a shinny pan or pot like a Stainless steal. You need a light colored bottom so that you can see when the butter turns brown.
Put in the amount of butter you would like to brown I do ½ pound at one time, you can chop it up so it doesn’t take to long to melt.
With your burner on medium melt your butter stirring it with a whisk
Keep stirring it takes about 5-6 minutes you will see it steam and bubble when you see the bottom start to turn brown stir a little more.
Don’t let it get too dark because you will burn it.
It does start to smell like caramel nuts.
Take it off the heat
Pour into a jar but before you do that run the out side of the bottom of the jar under HOT water on your tap to heat up jar so when you put in the hot butter that your jar doesn’t break
Place your jar on a heat resistant surface (oven mit or a hot pad)
Using a butter knife stir your hot brown butter every 5-10 minutes throughout the cooling stage, this will even out your color and mix the flavor
Store on counter or fridge in a sealed jar
