Ingredients
What you need:
1/2 lb. Unsalted Butter
Preparation
What to do:
Use stainless steel pot or similar. Pot needs light-colored bottom so that you can see when butter turns brown.
Cut Butter into chunks to melt faster
Place in pot
Burner on medium, melt butter stir with whiskTakes approx. 5–6 minutes, you will see the butter steam and bubble, when you see the bottom start to turn brown, stir a little more.
Don’t let it get too dark because it will burn.
When it starts to smell like caramel, take it off the heat
Store Brown Butter in glass jar
Run hot tap water over bottom of jar to heat it up
Place jar on potholder, then pour hot Brown Butter into jar, including the brown bits
For the next few hours, use butter knife to stir Brown Butter
Brown butter bits should be mixed throughout
Leave it in jar, when cold seal
I leave on the counter and use as needed

For brown butter candies, there are two ways:
1. Don’t mix the butter; instead, spoon the butter and bits into each mold. This will give you a two-toned butter candy.
2. Mix the butter and spoon into candy molds. Tap candy molds to release any bubbles. Place in freezer or fridge until firm. Store in container in the fridge
