Scotch Eggs

Ingredients

8 oz. Ground Beef, raw

1 tsp. Mustard (optional)

 

4 Eggs, hard boiled, peeled, cold

 

Coating:

1 Egg, raw

1/4 c. Meat Flour

½ tsp. Garlic Powder (optional)

½ tsp. Dill, dried (optional)

½ c. Cheese Crumbs or Crushed Whisps

Preparation

Mix Ground Beef and Mustard together

Divide Ground Beef mixture into 4, 2oz. meatballs

 

Take meatballs use hamburger press to flatten

Place Boiled Egg in the middle and wrap the Ground Beef around the Egg sealing it in

Do this to all 4 eggs

 

Blend Meat Flour, and seasonings on plate

 

Take Raw Egg, beat with fork in bowl

Dip each Scotch Egg in the beat egg then roll in the Meat flour

Squish it lightly in your hands to keep meat flour attached

Roll each Scotch Egg in beat egg again

Then in Cheese Crumbs

Again squeeze lightly to secure Cheese Crumbs

Do this to all 4 eggs

 

Using an Air Fryer

Place all 4 Scotch Eggs in Air Fryer (does not need to be preheated unless you want to)

390° Air Fryer for 10 minutes

~ If you want it dairy free leave off Cheese Crumbs

~I find it helpful to divide the Meat Flour mixture and the Cheese Crumbs in half before coating Scotch Eggs, this way you won’t use up all the coating on the first few eggs
